The workshop "Modern approaches to the analysis of mycotoxins in food, animal feed, premixes and biologically active additives"

The accredited laboratory of Analit successfully held the workshop "Modern approaches to the analysis of mycotoxins in food, animal feed, premixes and biologically active additives"

During this workshop there were also demonstrated and compared the different approaches to the HPLC analysis of the mycotoxins: post-column and pre-column derivatizations. HPLC analysis was provided in real time with the new Shimadzu HPLC instrument LC-2030C.

Two approaches to sample preparation were compared using solid-phase extraction and immuno-affinity columns. Participants were introduced to the Sepaths automatic solid phase extraction system (produced by LabTech) providing fully automatic sample purification from interference impurities. Using Sepaths reduces the cost of sample preparation without losing effectiveness.

There were also demonstrated the following effective and user-friendly systems for evaporation and concentration of samples:
- for evaporation of samples with a volume of 20 ml or more - Buchi R-300 rotary evaporator
- for samples from 1.5ml to 50ml - BioChromato Smart Evaporator system
